4 miles!

I did it!  I did another 4 miles last night!  I would like to get some running in today, but I don't know if I will.  I could use a good stretch.  I got a blister on my foot last night.  There was something in my shoe that was rubbing against it while I was running.  I didn't stop and when I did there it was, a blister.  How do you get rid of blisters?

I need to plan ahead

Once again I may have to put off some plans to get my run in today.  I may need to keep running clothes and tennis in a bag so that I can be ready at the drop of a dime if plans change.  Oh, I just cut my hair off, so I don't have to worry about that anymore.  I did not do my 2m or cross train yesterday, not even at home.  So today I need to get 3.5 or 4 miles in. I also need to invest in some workout gear.

Week 4 Days 1-2-3

Day 1 -I did a little strength Monday by using my 10 pd weight and just lifting with both hands in different directions, working different sets of muscles.  I did a few curls, a few tricep moves, and a few presses.

Day 2 - Last night I ran 3.5 miles.  I could have belted out 4 but my husband and sons were waiting for me.  There were a few people up at the track.  I was surprised.  Being that it was dark and all.  I guess no one wanted to take on the sun.  Not even a little.

Day 3 - Today I am supposed to do 2miles or cross training.  I don't know what I will do.  I have an art class I wanted to attend tonight.  By the time I do that, and pick up my kids, it may be too late to go to the track.  I could just do an exercise tape at home.  I have insanity, and a couple others.  I need to get a really good stretch DVD.  I used to do yoga and because of spiritual ramifications I stopped, but it is good stuff.  I need to pray about it. I didn't pray about it before.

The course for the race has been revealed, and they even did a video.  It will be here before no time.  I am below the 210 mark.  That's good!  I have been experiencing some stomach issues.  That's bad.  I think it is the sugar.  I need to leave it alone.  I am addicted.

At it again

Ok, ok, so I didn't stick to the plan, but I did do something.  The main thing is to keep it moving.  I did not do the 4 miles Saturday, or the 5 miles Sunday.  As a matter of fact I did't do anything Sunday because I was trying to take my hair down.  On Saturday I did 2 miles and then the kids and I took to the hill.  I went up five times frontward, and 5 times backwards.  Backwards is no joke and really works your quads!  Even though I did not do the four Saturday, I don't feel guilty because I got a good work out in.  I can say that I see a slight difference in my size.  My grandmother is surely commenting.  Once I break past the 210 standstill, I know it will start falling off!

Time Constraints

Hi Everybody, I am really excited this morning.  I havent followed the 1/2 marathon training to a tee.  If you look at the schedule for week 3 I have switched it around a little.  The key thing is that I have done something though.  This is so weird because I am amending this post at a later date.  The content of the original post either got erased or never made it.

So once again I am saying that I did cross training Thursday instead of running because of time constraints.  I ran up a hill 15 times, 3 of which I did this crawl where you start in a standing position and drop to your hands and go.  It was very invigorating.  Friday morning I thought I was going to have time constraints, but I did the 4 miles in 55 minutes instead of 60!  a whole 5 minutes was shaved somehow.  Awesome!  Now I have Saturday, and on Sunday the 5 miler!  Whoa Nelly!

4 miles!

Okay, since last post, I was supposed to do the 4 miles that Sunday.  I didnt do it.  I didin't do the 4 miles the next Sunday either.  As a matter of fact, the next week I may have gone out 3 times, but only 3 miles each time.  I did go skating again that Friday though!  That will be on of my cross training efforts for sure!

I did 2.5 miles Monday and  4 miles yesterday!  I am excited about that.  Since I didn't get out there last week like I wantd to, I am going to make it up by running 4 miles Thursday, Friday and Saturday.   I will post each day to let you know whether or not I completed my task.  I will have to shift back to my  morning schedule to complete this task.

Sunday I am scheduled to run 5 miles!

My personal goal is to run 1 mile in 15 minutes.  That would mean I would finish a 1/2 marathon run in approximately 3 1/2 hours!  Phew!  Thats a lot of running!  May not seem like it to you experts out there, but its pretty lengthy for me right now.  I'm sure that as I get closer, it will get a little better.  Soon I will have to train myself on terrain.

Getting to the finish line!

Hi everyone!  I was a little disappointed in myself at first so I didn't post, but now I have found my motivation and have stopped criticizing myself.  In the diet world they say if you slip up one day, don't beat yourself up!  There is always tomorrow.  So since my last post, last week I finished the 9th week of the couch to 5K training and got in 3, 3 mile runs!   Yeah me!   A lot has happened since then, but I am pushing on.  So this week I started the Hal Higdon 1/2 marathon training schedule.  Here is the link:  http://www.halhigdon.com/halfmarathon/novice.htm.  I did not do the strength and stretch Monday.  I ran the 3 miles Tuesday, nothing Wednesday, and Thursday I did the 3 miles but no strength.  Tonight I will combine my cross training from Wednesday and for Saturday into one 3 hour or so skating session!  Yes I like to skate!  I bought some skates about 2 months ago and enjoying it!

So maybe Saturday I will do some strengthening at home.  I have a 10lb weight, I had 2 but one is missing, which plagues me till this day, and I have a machine I have yet to put up.  May have to call dear old Dad to help me.  I love him so much!  I have been doing research on excercises I can do, and of course know some myself.  I will probably do some squats, lunges, push-ups, ball exercises, crunches, and bicep curls.  I really want my arms and back toned.  My chest too!  That's Saturday.  Sunday I will push out the four miles!

I officially signed up for my marathon last night!  I have a goal, and that is exciting and challenging at the same time for me!  I have 17 weeks to prepare.  The 1/2 marathon training will take me 12 weeks to complete with 5 weeks to start over and perfect some things.  I did this on purpose so that I would have those extra weeks to work on speed and form or to do some weeks over, which I have done with the 5K training.  That is okay though.  I am excited yall, and will keep you posted on my progress, that picture is coming.  Just trying to decide what is appropriate for me to show.

Till next time!
