Getting to the finish line!

Hi everyone!  I was a little disappointed in myself at first so I didn't post, but now I have found my motivation and have stopped criticizing myself.  In the diet world they say if you slip up one day, don't beat yourself up!  There is always tomorrow.  So since my last post, last week I finished the 9th week of the couch to 5K training and got in 3, 3 mile runs!   Yeah me!   A lot has happened since then, but I am pushing on.  So this week I started the Hal Higdon 1/2 marathon training schedule.  Here is the link:  http://www.halhigdon.com/halfmarathon/novice.htm.  I did not do the strength and stretch Monday.  I ran the 3 miles Tuesday, nothing Wednesday, and Thursday I did the 3 miles but no strength.  Tonight I will combine my cross training from Wednesday and for Saturday into one 3 hour or so skating session!  Yes I like to skate!  I bought some skates about 2 months ago and enjoying it!

So maybe Saturday I will do some strengthening at home.  I have a 10lb weight, I had 2 but one is missing, which plagues me till this day, and I have a machine I have yet to put up.  May have to call dear old Dad to help me.  I love him so much!  I have been doing research on excercises I can do, and of course know some myself.  I will probably do some squats, lunges, push-ups, ball exercises, crunches, and bicep curls.  I really want my arms and back toned.  My chest too!  That's Saturday.  Sunday I will push out the four miles!

I officially signed up for my marathon last night!  I have a goal, and that is exciting and challenging at the same time for me!  I have 17 weeks to prepare.  The 1/2 marathon training will take me 12 weeks to complete with 5 weeks to start over and perfect some things.  I did this on purpose so that I would have those extra weeks to work on speed and form or to do some weeks over, which I have done with the 5K training.  That is okay though.  I am excited yall, and will keep you posted on my progress, that picture is coming.  Just trying to decide what is appropriate for me to show.

Till next time!
